In this workshop we will explore how teachers can transform assessment practices by combining decolonized teaching approaches with the possibilities of AI. Participants will learn how to create assessments that respect diverse ways of learning, promote fairness, and support the responsible use of AI.
The session will demonstrate how Indigenous perspectives and AI tools can work together to amplify every student’s voice and create new opportunities for success. By the end of the workshop, participants will have practical strategies to design assessments that are inclusive and meaningful for today’s classrooms.
This supports the theme by transforming pathways through the integration of Indigenous and decolonized perspectives with AI, fostering meaningful and diverse opportunities for learners. The workshop will be in person but we will also stream the morning presentation for anyone wanting to join virtually. In the afternoon, we will offer break out sessions for in person attendees to explore the ideas in more depth.
