Keynote Speaker: Dr. Shelly Wilton

Dr. Shelly Wilton ( Niemi ) is a Cree/ Métis woman who is known for her extensive work as an Indigenous Educational Leader, Author, Researcher, Scholar, Storyteller and Ethical Space Designer. Dr. Wilton ( Niemi ) was born in Prince Albert, SK, raised in Prince George, BC, and currently lives and works in Victoria, BC.

Dr. Wilton’s (Niemi) skills, experience, passion, research and influence are found within the areas of; Cultural Safety, Culturally Responsive Policy, Governance, Leadership, Community Engagement, Strategic Planning, Restorative Practice and Ethical Space Design. Dr. Wilton (Niemi) serves as the Director of Indigenous Education for the Greater Victoria School District and continues to be an advisor and consultant to various boards and organizations provincially, nationally and internationally on matters related to these topics.
